Working at Novita you will be contributing to the planning and provision of client and family-centred services. You will support our clients across their lifespan in key areas such as independence skills, sensory processing, equipment, and helping them to achieve their developmental milestones. We have positions available at Hindmarsh, Elizabeth, Parafield Gardens, St.Marys and Modbury Therapy Hubs.
The Senior Speech pathologist will undertake the following activities:
- Managing a clinical case load involving the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the appropriate Intervention program
- Integrating speech pathology services with other Novita Services to support a multi-disciplinary approach and liaising with and engaging in decision making, client reviews, planning sessions, program conferences and other appropriate meetings.
- Contributing to the development and provision of community-based programmes and activities for individuals with physical disabilities and/or developmental disabilities.
- Encouraging client and family participation in program evaluation to ensure that services are relevant to the individual family’s needs and priorities.
- Providing support and supervision to Speech Pathologists in the team
Key Selection Criteria
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
- Must be a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia or working towards this status within the first 12 months of employment at Novita
- Experience in working in the disability sector, within an early intervention, paediatric or adult setting and working with autism spectrum disorder or clients with a physical disability diagnosis
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to prepare high quality written reports, and other documentation as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, parents and staff
- Demonstrated exemplary customer service skills
- Energetic, resourceful, innovative, and flexible in responding to challenges
- Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- A sound understanding of person-centred thinking, the principles of NDIS and the National Disability Services Standards.
Essential Requirements
- Valid driving licence and willingness to use own vehicle for travel
- NDIS worker screening, DHS Working with Children and Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Fully vaccinated from COVID-19 (SA mandate).
Remuneration Package
Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Enjoy salary packaging up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing your take-home pay by approximately $5,000.
