The Nossal Institute for Global health aims to improve the health of all people globally by deepening our collective understanding of how multiple systems operate and interact to shape health through applied research, learning and partnership.
A maternity leave backfill position is available in the One Health Unit, Nossal Institute for Global Health for 12 months from mid-April 2025 to mid-April 2026.
The position will be reviewed in early 2026 with the potential for the role to transition to an ongoing appointment for a suitable candidate.
You will be based in the One Health Unit within Nossal Institute Limited (NIL), a wholly owned subsidiary company of the University of Melbourne. NIL is the operating arm of the Nossal Institute for Global Health, a multi-disciplinary team within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne.
The role involves work in the Institute’s global health consultancy, research and teaching as detailed below. The position level will be at Senior Technical Advisor or Principal Advisor depending on the applicant’s demonstrated experience and expertise, and the agreed scope of leadership and independence.
You have an ability and enthusiasm to work successfully and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, distributed international team, and uphold and promote equity, diversity, and collaboration in all activities and interactions. Work will be with both other members of the One Health Unit and other staff from across Nossal Institute who are based locally in Melbourne or remotely.
