About the Role

Are you passionate about effective information and records management? Join the NLC as a Senior Information Officer and play a key role in ensuring that our organisation meets the highest standards of information management.

With a focus on ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as the Archives Act 1983 and NAA Information Management Standards, the Senior Information Officer will lead Content Manager Administration and training efforts across NLC regional offices. Additionally, the role involves assisting in various information and records management projects, identifying issues, and proposing solutions to enhance NLC's information infrastructure.

About the NLC

The Northern Land Council (NLC) was established 50 years ago under the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act in 1976, to assist Aboriginal people in the Top End of the NT to acquire and manage their traditional lands, waters and seas. We are committed to enhancing Aboriginal peoples social, political and economic participation by supporting their aspirations and amplifying their voices on a range of issues impacting on their lands, seas, culture and communities.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven adaptability in conducting training across diverse formats, including virtual platforms like Microsoft Teams.
  • Cross cultural competency and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills

In addition to this, you will have: 

  • Diploma of Business or relevant equivalent qualifications or a minimum of two (2) years’ in a similar role
  • Experience using Content Manager or similar EDRMS including the Administrator functions.
  • Project Management skills in information and records management field is a plus.
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence and the ability to travel remotely via 4wd and light aircraft.

What’s in it for you?

  • This position is classified under our Enterprise Agreement at ASO5, with a commencing base salary of $71,279 per annum.

In addition to base salary, you will receive:

  • 14% superannuation;
  • District allowance starting at $2,539 per annum
  • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,724;
  • Generous leave entitlements such as 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave, and paid Christmas close down;
  • Salary packaging benefits of up to $15,900 and additional Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.
