Cultural knowledge and lived experience are central to the work that we do here at NLC. The Northern Land Council (NLC) was established 50 years ago under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act in 1976, to assist Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands, waters and seas. We are committed to enhancing Aboriginal peoples social, political and economic participation by supporting their aspirations and amplifying their voices on a range of issues impacting on their lands, seas, culture and communities.
Our Anthropology team consults with and provides anthropological advice to traditional owners to secure and protect their rights and interests in land, water and sea. The Manager Native Title Anthropology is responsible for managing the NLC's native title anthropological work, relating to pre-determination, post-determination and future acts practice. This position will oversee research work being undertaken by staff and external consultants, including for specific Native Title Determination Applications (NTDAs) and will also collaborate with other internal stakeholders to develop project budgets, schedules, submissions and funding applications.

As a Manager, NT Anthropology, you will have experience in research, preparation, and authorship of expert anthropological reports, coupled with demonstrated experience in effectively supervising staff and consultants. You will have advanced skills in risk and financial management, including budgetary oversight along with seasoned project and program management experience. In addition to this you will have: -
