  • This position includes a full private use vehicle, 9 day fortnight and work from home opportunities.
  • Salary Range: $121,186.47 to $140,839.32 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The role

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Coaching and mentoring of planners whilst reinforcing a positive team culture
  • Contributing to a continuous improvement culture to deliver further innovation to Council’s systems, processes and tools in the assessment of development applications
  • Managing a range of complex, challenging developments.
  • Managing appeals in the Land and Environment Court
  • Managing applications for the local and regional planning panels

Our opportunity:

The key focus areas of this role include:

  • Ability to manage a number of complex developments simultaneously which deliver timely and accurate assessment of planning applications
  • Acting as an expert witness in Land and Environment Court appeals
  • Representing Council at planning panels (Northern Beaches Local Planning Panel and the Sydney North Planning Panel)
  • Coaching and mentoring of planners as well as assisting the Manager with the operation of the team
  • Continuous Improvement of systems, processes and tools in the assessment of planning applications
