Programs and Services Manager - Fitzroy Crossing

The key objective of this position is to coordinate and participate in the development, delivery and evaluation of Nindilingarri Cultural Health Service programs and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the CEO and in conjunction with Senior management of NCHS as well as other members of the NCHS team to assist with program and service development, delivery and evaluation;
  • To work closely with communities and key service providers, where appropriate, to develop innovative multisectoral local approaches to the prevention and management of chronic diseases;
  • Contribute to, participate in, and maintain a commitment to continuous quality improvement and various accreditation certification processes, including program evaluation and consumer satisfaction;
  • Provide information, options and advice to CEO/CSM and FD in relation to strategic directions, development, implementation and critical review of Nindilingarri health program initiatives;
  • Provide supportive supervision to the Coordinators and team members of the CHSP Program, ADMH Program, Environmental Health Program and the Health Promotion Team;
  • Ensure that program and service objectives are achieved, and monitor progress against organisational Action Plans;
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate preparation of reports, statistics and other records in accordance with organisational and funding body requirements.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in health services  including supervising staff, delegating responsibility and performance management;
  2. Demonstrated experience in project development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion programs;
  3. The ability to work independently as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment;
  4. High level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and strategically at all levels including with community organizations and individuals, staff and Committee, government departments and funding bodies;
  5. Experience in preparation of reports and correspondence;
  6. Previous experience working with Aboriginal people, and a sound knowledge of Aboriginal health issues and the difficulties faced by ACCHOs;
  7. A current driver’s 'C' class licence;
  8. A satisfactory National Police Record check (NPR reports will be considered with reference to the inherent requirements of the position).

Desirable:

  1. Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating health programs;
  2. Previous experience working  in a remote area;
  3. Recent management experience in the Aboriginal health sector.
