About the National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance (The Alliance)

The Alliance is a peak body by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, uniting the Indigenous employment and training sector. We are committed to supporting stronger outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers and learners, supporting the growth and impact of the employment and training sector.

As an early-stage, fast-evolving organisation, we need someone who is not only passionate about our mission but also adaptable and versatile to grow with us.

The Role:

This is a collaborative, enabling role that works across all departments to lead the design and delivery of diverse, high-quality events that connect, engage, and amplify the work of The Alliance. From large national conferences to small external briefings and information sessions, virtual roundtables, and capability-building workshops, you’ll bring people together through experiences that reflect our values, support our mission, and strengthen relationships with our stakeholders.

Our audience is diverse—spanning industry and government, First Nations and non-First Nations organisations, the employment and training sector, and community. While you don’t need direct experience with every audience, we’re seeking someone who excels at bringing diverse groups together to strengthen relationships and help build more cohesive and connected sector ecosystems.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to coordinate logistics, speakers, and communications, ensuring every event is inclusive, purposeful, and well-executed. This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organised, collaborative, and passionate about delivering impactful events that drive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of in-person and virtual events such as conferences, webinars, and stakeholder forums.
  • Coordinate logistics including venues, catering, travel, registrations, and run sheets.
  • Manage delegate communications and engagement across the full event lifecycle.
  • Ensure events are culturally safe, impactful, and aligned with The Alliance’s purpose.
  • Support event communications, programs, speaker briefings, and content coordination.
  • Liaise with internal teams, members, partners, suppliers, and speakers.
  • Manage budgets, suppliers, and logistics for high-quality event delivery.
  • Use tools like CRM, Eventbrite, and Trello to manage timelines, data, and reporting.
  • Monitor event feedback and metrics to support continuous improvement.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • A skilled and resourceful event organiser with 3–5 years’ experience delivering in-person and online events.
  • Confident communicator who can engage diverse audiences and manage stakeholders, suppliers, and logistics with care and attention to detail.
  • Committed to advancing the economic interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through culturally safe and inclusive practice.
  • Comfortable working independently and across teams, with a willingness to travel for events as required.
  • Experience with CRMs, event tools (e.g. Eventbrite), and Microsoft 365.
  • Background in employment, training, community, or NFP sectors is a plus.
  • Relevant qualifications in events, comms, or project coordination are desirable but not essential.

WHY JOIN US?

At The Alliance, you’ll be part of a mission-driven team working towards a future where Indigenous people achieve economic prosperity through employment and training. Join us at this exciting time, as we work together to close the gap and create lasting impact. We offer a flexible, collaborative environment where your ideas and contributions will shape the future of the organisation.
