- An experienced and qualified Financial Capability Worker OR
- Someone with an interest in developing a career in this sector, who’s keen to complete a traineeship and study.
To undertake a traineeship, you must:
- attend and participate in class and group work.
- commit to a minimum of 5-hours study – at work - per week.
- meet agreed deadlines for the completion of assignments and units.
YOUR JOB
Financial Capability Workers support people who:
- Want to improve their financial literacy skills, and
- Are recovering from financial difficulty.
By providing a meet & greet services and basic financial information / activities to clients under the direction of an accredited Financial Counsellor.
KEY SKILLS| CAPABILITIES | EXPERIENCE
- Experienced / Qualified: Minimum Certificate III in Community Services (CHC32015) and 3 x financial units of competency: CHCEDU 005, CHCEDU 006 and CHCEDU 007
- Not qualified: Prepared to complete a traineeship to complete a Certificate IV Community Services (CHC420221) before enrolling in the Diploma course.
- Demonstrable experience providing individual support and mentoring to clients.
- Basic knowledge of government services, utility, or telco hardship programs.
- General knowledge of basic bank accounts and the banking system.
- Experience delivering education sessions – to individuals and groups of people.
- Good computer, administration, and numeracy skills.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILitIES
- Complete intake data.
- Providing information and/or completing forms for financial support programs including NILS, HUGS, telco hardship programs etc.
- Guide clients through preparing a basic budget, setting up bank accounts / online banking, paying bills, accessing government services etc.
- Facilitate individual or group financial literacy education sessions.
- Refer clients to the Financial Counsellor for activities that must be completed by an accredited person.
