The Organisation

BirdLife Australia is a national, grassroots conservation charity with over 280,000 supporters. We have been the voice of Australia’s birdlife for over a century, from protecting birds and their habitats to on-ground projects and advocacy informed by rigorous science. Our core programs adopt a multi-species landscape-scale approach to conservation, including beach-nesting shorebirds, woodland birds, mallee birds and globally important habitats, which we call Key Biodiversity Areas.

The Role

You will be responsible for maximising the long-term value of BirdLife’s regular giving program. Working closely with the Fundraising Team Lead, you will work to acquire, retain, steward and upgrade regular givers across a range of channels and coordinate membership renewal communications.

You will do this by:

  • Working with the Fundraising Team Lead to develop and implement an annual communication schedule
  • Developing and implementing cross channel acquisition and retention strategies across telemarketing, digital and direct mail
  • Monitoring and reporting on program targets including income and expenditure
  • Coordinating the membership renewal and reactivation campaigns

Skills Required

You have direct or digital marketing experience within the non-profit or commercial sectors. You take initiative, you’re highly adaptable and can effectively manage deadlines and stakeholders with competing demands and tasks.
You’re also able to demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including copy writing and editing
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • A sound understanding of segmentation approaches, success factors and experience of managing data-driven marketing campaigns
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
