Health Equity Matters is the peak national organisation for Australia’s community-controlled HIV and LGBTIQA+ response and aims to end health inequity for its communities.
The organisation works with member organisations who represent lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities, sex workers, people who use drugs, people with HIV and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Through advocacy, policy, and health promotion, Health Equity Matters leads Australia’s effort to end HIV transmission and promote the health of LGBTIQA+ communities across Australia.
Health Equity Matters’ connections with communities across Australia enables the organisation to observe changes in LGBTIQA+ health and Australia’s HIV epidemic, and then mobilise and respond quickly as a trusted communication channel to government, research and clinical partners.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, this role will support complex projects and lead the administration and reporting associated with Health Equity Matter’s peak body responsibilities. You will lead the administration of the International Advisory Committee, support grant reporting to the Commonwealth Department of Health, and membership re-accreditation of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), in addition to:
