The Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) is the peak national body for community and social services and a leading advocate for people affected by poverty and inequality. With more than 300 organisational members – from major charities to small not-for-profits across metro, regional and remote Australia – ACOSS is a powerful voice for change.
Through policy and research, public advocacy and campaigning, ACOSS and its members work closely with government, the media and key stakeholders to tackle poverty and inequalities and support people directly affected to be at the centre of policy debates.
As the Administrative Assistant, you’ll play a central role in keeping the ACOSS national office running smoothly, while also supporting key internal teams including operations, people and culture, and membership.
This is a varied and engaging role where you’ll manage reception duties, coordinate team engagement, meetings and events, and support day-to-day administrative needs across the organisation. You'll also help maintain external relationships and records, and support communication and reporting processes. Your strong organisation skills and collaborative approach will make you a valued part of the ACOSS team.
You’re a proactive and capable administrator who takes pride in providing reliable support and creating order in a busy, purpose-driven environment. You bring a positive, collaborative attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in social justice.
You’ll be passionate about the work of ACOSS and committed to supporting people affected by poverty, disadvantage and inequality. Experience working in the non-profit or community sector will be highly regarded.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience using a CRM (especially CiviCRM), qualifications in business administration, or lived experience of poverty or inequality would be valuable but not essential.
