About the Role

• Full Time, Maximum Term Contract (30 June 2024)
• Consumer Service Delivery Level 2 with a salary range of $71,215 - $76,353 (pro rata) per annum + Superannuation

About the Program

The Living and Learning Centre is funded by Brisbane North PHN as part of a stepped care approach to meeting the mental health needs of the community. It provides clinical and psychosocial support to individuals experiencing severe and/or complex mental health issues. The centre supports individuals 18 years and over, living in Northern Brisbane suburbs and pine river regions. It is open Monday to Friday 8am-8pm with some weekend programming capacity in response to identified need.

About your new role

Peer Support Worker will be part of a multidisciplinary team made up of Mental Health Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and Wellbeing Coaches and other Peer Support Workers. The Peer Support Worker role will deliver individual psychosocial support for consumers, in addition to group facilitation of self-development programs.

What you will bring to the role?

• Experience and qualification in mental health and community services is desirable
• Experience and knowledge of the housing sector will be an advantage
• A strong understanding of supporting people experiencing emotional distress through their recovery journey; and an ability to articulate and promote the value of and strengths gained from lived experiences of recovery
• Ability to role-model and develop recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practices across the service
• Demonstrate integrity, credibility, and ability to foster open communication
• Ability to work productively in a fast paced, changing, and dynamic environment

• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) required before commencement
• Current Drivers licence
