Position Details

• Full-Time, Maximum Term Contract until 30/06/2027 (Project Work)
• Classification: SCHADS Level 5 with a salary range of: $97,476 - $101,883; per annum pro rata + Superannuation
• Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
• Location: Heidelberg, VIC, however remote or hybrid working arrangements will be considered

About your new role

Drawing on the National Lived Experience (Peer) Workforce Guidelines, the Peer Placement Coordinator will utilise their Lived Expertise to model Lived Experience Practice to peer work students and their placement teams, including Peer Mentors.

The Peer Placement Coordinator will also support the ongoing development of Neami National student placement guidelines and procedures that will be made available to Neami service managers and educational institutions, by working alongside the Whittlesea Local Student Placement Coordinator and aligning peer work student placement processes with other disciplines such as social work and nursing.

The role will also liaise with relevant learning institutions in the development of partnerships for the placement of students from the Mental Health Peer Work Certificate IV. This includes actively support and engage in peer work student recruitment processes including promoting and increasing awareness of Neami employment opportunities in educational institutions to support the proactive procurement of suitable candidates.

What you will bring to the role

• Understanding of Lived Experience (Peer) Principles, LE lens and Consumer movement to ground practice in collective knowledge.
• Experience in a designated Lived Experience service delivery role.
• A demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships in partnership with a range of stakeholders, networking and mutual problem solving
• Demonstrated experience in project management, coordination, and high-quality administration and record keeping.
• Ability and commitment to work on your own initiative and/or in a team

• Personal lived/living experience of recovery as a family, friend or carer. Your recovery experience may be related to mental health, suicidal crisis, drugs and alcohol use or trauma
• Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery
• Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instill confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery

• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
• Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
• Current Australian drivers licence and access to a car
• Australian working rights
