The Mental Health Clinical Intern will work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team to deliver focused psychological interventions for individuals with mental health disorders in a primary care setting.

Links to Wellbeing will provide a structured career pathway with built-in support, supervision and continuing professional development. We will provide mentoring, debriefing, clinical and professional supervision along with the supported and supervised introduction to clinical therapy with both individual and group clients to clients across a range of teams (adult, people at risk of suicide or self-harm) within the Central and Southern Metropolitan Adelaide. The positions are a great opportunity for new graduates to secure 2 year post graduate experience in the provision of clinical therapy.

  • Full Time position available across consortium agencies
  • $65,000 salary
  • Maximum Term Contract until 30 June 2021
  • Under appropriate supervision, deliver psychological interventions

About the role:

  • At the end of your 2-year internship you will be competent in the delivery of mental health clinical interventions.
  • Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of a Bachelor degree level qualification in psychology, occupational therapy, social work or mental health nursing and be fully registered members of a professional body (AASW or AHPRA).

** Please note that the internship does not fulfil the criteria for the 4+2 pathway for registration as a psychologist.

The organisations have built upon existing strong partnerships in the primary health and community service sectors.

The Adelaide Primary Health Network have commissioned the Links to Wellbeing consortium to provide Primary Mental Health Services that will provide clinical support and psychological services across the stepped care continuum. Interventions range from low intensity, for those with mild presentations, psychological therapies for people with mild to moderate conditions through to clinical care coordination for people with chronic and complex mental health conditions. Suicide Prevention Services for people suitable for primary mental health care management are also available.
