The project is a time limited initiative which assists people experiencing psychosocial distress and mental ill health due to the COVID-19 physical and isolation measures, including those who are required to self-isolate for whatever reason. This includes people with lived experience of mental illness, as well as those experiencing poor psychosocial health for the first time due to the impacts of COVID-19. The Partners in Wellbeing service operates as a Monday - Friday, 9am - 10pm and weekends, 9am - 5pm. This role requires an Intake & Wellbeing Worker who is able to work Monday to Fridays, 8:30am - 5pm.

The Intake Assessment & Wellbeing Workers will work with participants from the Partners in Wellbeing service to provide specialist psychosocial and wellbeing supports being delivered across Victoria via telephone and video technology.

Core duties

  • Receive requests, assess and provide appropriate support and advice; including referrals from Beyond Blue, Lifeline and Suicide Line Victoria.
  • Manage, support and review a caseload, including waiting list management intervention
  • Perform risk assessments (including referral to crisis intervention services, where necessary).
  • Maintain accurate individual consumer files and data bases (Carelink)
  • Facilitation of small group wellbeing programs (as required)

  • Strong communication skills

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • A Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Check will be undertaken prior to commencement
  • Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (or have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive third dose.)
  • Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National.
