About the Role

• Part Time (0.6FTE) parental Leave coverage position
• Maximum Term Contract until 30 June 2021 (pending extension until 2022)
• CSD Level 3 from $73,434 – $79,010 per annum (pro rata) + super + salary packaging
• Located in Hurstville

The Employment Specialist role will be Working in partnership with the Continuity of Support (COS) program, which provides psychosocial support to people who have previously accessed PIR, PHAMS and D2DL and have been found “ineligible” for supports under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Neami National’s WorkWell programs support recovery through open employment. There are currently five WorkWell programs across greater Sydney. With the support from the Employment Services Manager and the WorkWell team, the Employment Specialist will work in the context of the Individual Placement and Support model (IPS); supporting the consumers working toward their individual employment goals. The principles of IPS are competitive employment, integration into a mental health team, individual preferences, zero exclusion, rapid-job search, job development, benefits counselling, and time-unlimited support.

Core duties include:

• Assisting consumers in obtaining different types of jobs with different employers
• Building relationships with local employers and support workers
• Creating specific job development approaches based on individual preference
• Working closely with the mental health team in order to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers
• Collecting, collating and maintaining data on consumer contact

What will you bring to the role?

• Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of drive, initiative, motivation and outcome orientation.
• Relevant experience in a similar role
• Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team, to meet program goals and objectives.

• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the recovery model

• Current NSW Working with Children Check
• Australian Working Rights
• Driver’s licence
• Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
