About the role:

  • Part Time Permanent Position
  • Consumer Service Delivery Level 2: $67,330 – $72,196 p.a (pro rata) dependent on skills & experience + super + salary packaging
  • 7 day rotating roster
  • Based at Neami Hawthorn

The Youth Residential Recovery Service is a 7 day a week service that supports the recovery of young people aged 16-25 experiencing mental health concerns within a safe and supportive residential environment. The program is aimed towards young people requiring intensive support to develop life skills and the confidence to progress to, or return to independent living.

As a Community Rehabilitation and Support Worker, you can help young people ‘change the script’ and kick goals in their ‘adulting’, while being part of a dynamic and supportive team. Lead the way with creative and evidence based approaches. We are seeking people with personality and authentic warmth to support ‘recovery through relationship’.

Core duties – Community Rehabilitation and Support Worker

  • Provide direct support and rehabilitation to young residents
  • Facilitate engaging groups on life skills
  • Work within a youth friendly, recovery and trauma based model
  • Maintain records and resources
  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Work closely with clinical case managers in order to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers
  • Work within a collaborative team approach

What will you bring to this dual role?

  • Relevant training in youth, mental health or community work and knowledge of complex mental health issues will be highly regarded
  • Passion for working with young people
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the recovery model for mental health
  • Excellent administration skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (including email and internet) and proven experience working in a computerised environment
  • The ability to plan, organise and analyse tasks

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (or have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive their third dose.)
  • Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National.
