About the Role

  • Location: Melbourne (Parkville), or any other NDS office location
  • Hours: Part-time, 19 hours per week           
  • Status: Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026
  • Industrial Instrument: Non Award

Key Responsibilities

This position will undertake a wide range of activities to engage the sector, including:

  • Co-ordinating the delivery of the Working Together for Safety project including the management and administration of reporting obligations.
  • Organising and delivering online forums, producing practical resources, pod/webcasts and other online resources, and contributing to the running of related network meetings.
  • Engagement with key personnel in Government and Government agencies including WorkSafe, and includes key stakeholder management, development of own skills.
  • Identifying concerns and reporting insights from engagement with the sector to inform advocacy and enable NDS to provide tailored support as required.
  • Preparing an array of communications collaterals to support the Working Together for Safety project.
  • Ensuring strong collaboration with NDS personnel both within Victoria and in related roles nationally, to share knowledge, resources and experience.
  • Developing strong working relationships within own team, with other NDS teams and with key external stakeholders, including WorkSafe.
  • Building the skills and capabilities of self and any direct reports through learning and development activities.
  • Contributing  to the achievement of the NDS strategy through participation in special initiatives and programs.
  • In consultation with manager suggest improvements in delivery of the project to improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency.

Skills & Experience

  1. Demonstrated project management and administrative skills and proven capability to support multi-faceted projects delivered on time and on budget.
  2. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain networks with a range of stakeholders and publicly present complex information, so it is easily understood by a wide range of audiences.
  3. Demonstrated ability to investigate, analyse and report on issues of importance to service providers, particular in relation to work, health and safety
  4. Demonstrated ability to understand complex material and deliver high quality advice
  5. Proactive and self-driven. Is resilient and adaptable to change course of action as needed.
  6. Strong organisational skills, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  7. Proficiency with the MS Office Suite
  8. Competent in using online presentation platforms such as Zoom or MS Teams
  9. Capacity for independent travel
  10. A tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
