Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH) is a short-term intensive home-based early discharge rehabilitation program. It aims to achieve rehabilitation goals using a range of therapies that allows the patient to receive this service in their home, or phone consultation, or via virtual care. The program is seeking to engage an experienced qualified Physiotherapist who will assist in the provision of the highest quality RITH Physiotherapy services to patients living in the Penrith LGA.

The successful incumbent will contribute to the planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting of the district's RITH Physiotherapy service. In this position, you will utilise your skills and expertise in managing patients from a broad range of specialty areas with acute and complex conditions. Selection Criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration as a physiotherapist with AHPRA
  2. Substantial postgraduate level of knowledge, skills and clinical expertise across a broad range of Rehabilitative Physiotherapy including but not limited to Cardiorespiratory, Neurology/Neurosurgical, Orthopaedics, Infectious Diseases, Aged Care and patients with multiple comorbidities
  3. Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  4. Demonstrated ability to independently problem-solve and apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated ability to implement a new service, provide advice to service managers on Physiotherapy WH&S, clinical service development, practice and design in response to demands and client / stakeholder needs.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and demonstrated knowledge of & experience with Quality Improvement & Evidence Based Practice
  7. Demonstrated ability to deliver Physiotherapy Rehabilitation services via Virtual Care
  8. Current driver's licence (including P1 or above) and willingness to use for work purposes.
