On offer is a Permanent Part time position for a Registered Nurse to join the Gastroenterology Ambulatory Care Clinic (GACC). The incumbent will work in conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and advanced trainee in providing direct clinical care to patients in the service. The Registered Nurse administers infusions and transfusions under the mentorship of the CNC.

As a Registered Nurse, you will assist in managing GACC patients to avoid unnecessary presentation to the Emergency Department and subsequent admission to the ward especially with those having recurrent abdominal fluid accumulation and needs for periodic transfusions.

Selection Criteria:

1. Current registration as Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
2. Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in Acute Care Nursing as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse)
3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
4. Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
5. Preferred experience in the management of Gastroenterology procedures such as ascitic taps, high risk infusions and venepuncture in conjunction with a medical officer, or willingness to learn.
