Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.

An exciting opportunity has become available for Registered Nurses to join the Day Surgery/Preadmission Clinic and Discharge Lounge. There are full time and part time assignments available which is rostered across Monday to Friday - morning and afternoon shifts. The position works collaboratively with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care. The successful incumbent will utilise effective team communication in the planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of patient care.

In this role, you will act as an advocate for the specific needs of all patients/clients and carers including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the patient/client undergoing specialised procedures. Selection Criteria:

1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
2. Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in a procedural day surgery unit in an acute hospital setting as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse).
3. Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
4. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
5. Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills.
6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
7. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
8. Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit or team requirements.
