OUR OPPORTUNITY

The position provides high level guidance and technical expertise on employment law, awards, determinations, policies and procedures as related to NSW Health.

Partnering with the business to resolve industrial disputes and associated matters by negotiation, conciliation and/or arbitration with least disruption to services. Appearing before industrial and employee related tribunals as needed.

As Manager Employee / Industrial Relations, you will:

Provide sound advice and guidance on employee/industrial matters within short timeframes taking into account individual circumstance, corporate history and unique interests of various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensuring LHD objectives are achieved within timeframes and budget parameters, given the range of priorities with unpredictable volumes and response times.
  • Appear before various jurisdictions to achieve a satisfactory outcome to matters in a timely and cost effective manner. Attention to possible precedent and system wide implications.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Provide specialist support and advice on complex employee relations matters.
  • Have a flair for interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise across all levels of staff.
  • Have the ability to develop good working relationships with industry unions and other employer related organisations.
  • Have exposure to employee related issues at a high level coupled with an understanding of legal proceedings.
  • Ability to work with competing deadlines.
  • Have the ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
