Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. An exciting opportunity is now available to join the team in the Neurosurgical ward. This position is located at Nepean Hospital for an Enrolled Nurse working either Permanent Full time or Part time hours.

This role will see you provide provision of safe patient care, provision of care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse within the scope of practice of an Enrolled Nurse specific to service need. You will contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required and communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol.

Enrolled Nurses collaborate and consult with health care recipients, their families and community as well as Registered Nurses and other health professionals, to plan, implement and evaluate integrated care that optimises outcomes for recipients and the systems of care. They are responsible for the delegated care they provide and self-monitor their work.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current registration to practice as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Experience and demonstrated skill in Acute nursing
  3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  4. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
  5. Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
  6. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Ability to work a flexible roster
