About Us

NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

The successful incumbent will provide comprehensive clinical mental health services to people with a mental illness or mental disorder that is least intrusive, collaborative, recovery oriented and working with the nominated carer and family.

In collaboration with each client, their carers and other care providers, develop an individual care plan based on a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment of the client’s needs, which contains specific goals, strategies and responsibilities for action.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and including eligibility for membership of relevant professional body &/or full registration (if applicable) with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with mental illness.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007 and Mental Health Amendment (Statutory Review) Act 2014 .
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Computer competence and literacy.
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
