In Victoria we specialise in flora and fauna assessments with the aim to minimise impacts on plants animals and ecosystems. A particular focus of our work throughout Australia is renewable energy development impact assessments and ensuring impacts from these projects are minimised. This allows us to make a positive contribution to conserving environmental values while supporting the growth of the renewable energy sector. As an environmental firm, it is also important to us that the impact of our own operations is considered, and we are carbon neutral. 

Nature Advisory has a strong client focus and extensive experience in a range of sectors and our trusted expert team provide some of the best biodiversity advice available. We listen and understand our clients’ projects, undertake independent, rigorous assessments, and provide focused, relevant advice so they can respond effectively to biodiversity regulations. We currently have teams in Victoria, New South Wales, ACT, Tasmania, and Queensland.

About the role

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Finance Officer/Bookkeeper to support our growing support service needs.

Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a finance officer or Accounts Assistant or a Bookkeeper  
  • High level of experience with excel and Xero.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities with high level of time management.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes.
  • Must be process oriented and have a high attention to detail.
  • Must have a good understanding of accounting principles (Background in accounting studies or the completion of a minimum Cert IV level in Bookkeeping).
  • Experience with payroll.

Conditions of Employment

This is part time (0.8 FTE/ four day) permanent position working from our office in Hawthorn East, Victoria and from home. After the initial 6-month trial period and successful review, the employment contract would be ongoing and has the potential to lead to a full-time role.

Salary

$30-$40 per hour, equivalent pay (depending on experience and qualifications).
