As Accounts and Inventory Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the team to deliver our rapidly expanding vegetation carbon farming projects.

Nativ Carbon’s purpose is to assist industry to deliver on their decarbonisation commitments through the development of biodiverse environmental plantings W.A.

We leverage our expertise in bio-diverse native vegetation, project management and access to millions of seedlings to deliver practical offset plantings at scale. Where you fit in

Nativ Carbon works with companies and organisations who wish to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU's) through carbon farming in West Australian.

Your efforts in accurately updating company information, such as inventory for native seed collections, supplier transactions and training records will play an important part in supporting the overall business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Health Safety & Environment

  • Adhere to all workplace safety systems.
  • Contribute to improving workplace safety systems.
  • Commit to prompt identification, response and communication of risks.

Administrative duties:

  • Maintain seed inventory records.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable records including purchase orders and invoices.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Maintain supplier records.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Maintain asset and safety records.
  • Record, renew and update relevant update licences, letters of authority.
  • Assist with bookings for travel, accommodation and training.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance procedures and tasks.
  • Assist with the establishment and maintenance of processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an Accounts role
  • Proficient in using Xero accounting software.
  • A strong understanding of Inventory and Accounts Payable processes.
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office programs in the preparation of reports, especially Excel.
  • Certificate III or higher in a business-related qualification (or working towards one).
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written, and oral communication skills, a polite and professional manner.
  • Initiative, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • A strong desire to develop professional skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within small teams to achieve environmental goals.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment with the cultural context when working with Aboriginal or other Indigenous peoples.

Salary

We believe in rewarding people based on their performance and value to the company. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated based on the relevant award, considering experience and skill set.

Salary range: $30-$40 per hour. This role is offered as a permanent part-time role working 20-30 hours per work with some flexibility on days and scope to work from home on occasion once established in the role.

Commencement: Successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
