  • Part-time: 30.4 hours per week
  • Contract until 30 June 2026
  • Salary range from $111,707 to $116,645 pro rata (depending on experience) + superannuation contribution + eligibility for salary packaging

This exciting new position will coordinate and implement the NSW Ministry of Health NGO Advisory Committee (NGOAC) workplan that sits under the newly developed NGOAC Strategic Plan.

The NGOAC is a senior advisory forum for the NGO sector and NSW Health. The NGOAC provides strategic advice on the delivery of services for people with complex needs from the NGO perspective, and acts as a mechanism to engage with the NGO sector on the design and implementation of health priorities and policies.

The Network of Alcohol and other Drugs Agencies (NADA) is the peak organisation for non-government alcohol and other drugs services in NSW, and is the co-chair of the NGOAC. The role will be hosted by NADA but will work closely with a range of stakeholders.

If you have demonstrated experience in project management and/or policy skills that could be applied in the non-government health and social policy context and have strong analytical skills, then we would like to hear from you. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in experience in developing, analysing and evaluating policy and other projects in a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment. They will be highly organise, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, coordinate and undertake projects, reporting and evaluation activities aligned with the NGOAC Strategic Plan to ensure outcomes and/or expectations are achieved.
  • Research and map current state of the strategic priorities.
  • Develop an engagement and communications plan to support the NSW Health/NGO sector partnership.
  • Provide sound information and advice on current and emerging policy issues particularly those relating to the NGO sector to the NGO Advisory Committee to support effective decision making.
  • Liaise, communicate, and consult with members of the NGO Advisory Committee and other stakeholders to maintain knowledge of and collaborate on matters that have state-wide consequences, and represent the interests of the NGO Advisory Committee on internal and external meetings.
  • Prepare high quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and other relevant documents to inform decision making at the NGOAC or respond to agency or Government requests.
  • Develop workplan and monitor progress

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Demonstrated relevant, professional experience in health/social services policy development and implementation relevant to NGO/community organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating and reporting on projects, with attention to detail and adherence to timelines.
  • High-level written communication and analytical skills, enabling high-quality reports and correspondence while effectively monitoring work plans, progress and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver on complex policy and program/project areas.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded.
