Digital Transformation Manager

Community Legal Centres Australia
  • Progressive working environment
  • A high-profile and dynamic peak body with strong sector and government relationships
  • Not-for-profit salary packaging
  • Salary will range between $127 000 and $150 000 p.a pro-rata plus superannuation
  • Twelve-month contract with possibility of extension subject to funding

Community Legal Centres Australia (CLCA) is the national peak and provides critical services to community legal centres (CLCs) in our network, including in relation to information, communications and data technology (ICDT). The centrepiece of this work is currently CLASS, the client management system utilised by more than 140 organisations in our network to record client data and report on service delivery to government funders and others. CLASS is ageing and will need to be replaced. CLCA is leading a change process that will see centres purchase their own commercial CMS (Client Management System) tool which will deliver data to a national data repository, to be owned and managed by CLCA. CLCA will draw reports to governments (on behalf of centres) from our national data repository.

As our new Digital Transformation Manager your role will require you to:

  • Lead the organisation’s digital transformation work, in line with an agreed strategy.
  • Lead work, in collaboration with the CEO, CLCA Board, Commonwealth and State and Territory Governments, and State and Territory CLC peaks and associations, to further scope, refine and promote the sector digital strategy. A strategy has been drafted, but it remains a work in progress and will require further shaping as work progresses.
  • Engage with community legal services in the network, and State and Territory CLC peaks and associations, to bring the sector along with the national peak’s vision for the sector’s data future.
  • Maintain oversight of the digital transformation project’s components and ensure the project components are monitored (such as the scoping and building of the national data repository by contracted parties) and progressed in a timely manner.
  • Work with the vendors that own and maintain CLASS, to ensure that our existing ICDT services continue to be delivered while we build our integrated data and reporting future. This will involve monitoring service delivery, addressing any concerns with the vendor, and overseeing the CLASS Helpdesk, which is staffed by members of the ICDT team.
  • Contribute to the effective management of a team of skilled and committed workers with a broad range of ICDT skills.

This is a job for someone who has experience driving change but understand how this can be done in a consultative and collaborative way. This position has been funded by the Commonwealth Government for twelve months, but the data transformation will take more than a year and we are hopeful that funding will be extended.
