About NACCHO

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body for 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). Together, we deliver community-led healthcare to over half of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia.

The Management Accountant will, as part of a small finance team, provide financial management support to NACCHO’s individual grant programs through the provision of timely and accurate budgeting, reporting and monitoring of compliance requirements. The position will also supervise an assistant grants accountant.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare annual and mid-year budget reviews for grant programs, and associated papers for the NACCHO Board and Subcommittees.
  • Liaise with program managers to ensure grant milestones are actioned and revenue is received in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of grant acquittals.
  • Monitoring of grant programs payments to ACCHOS and Affiliates.
  • Development of cashflow budgets for all grant programs and monitoring of same to facilitate investment of surplus funds.

You will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce or a related field.
  • Membership of a professional body, e.g. CPA Australia.
  • Strong demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to provide information and influence desired outcomes.
