The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.
The Deputy Director, Cancer is a senior leadership position within the NACCHO Cancer Team, supporting the Director, Cancer to provide strategic and operational leadership across the NACCHO Cancer Program. The position leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of cancer initiatives aligned with NACCHO priorities and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Plan. It provides leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects and funding streams, including workforce development, stakeholder engagement, policy implementation, service improvement and program governance. Working closely with ACCHOs, Affiliates, government and key stakeholders, the role fosters strong partnerships and contributes to the design and delivery of culturally safe, evidence based initiatives that improve cancer outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Deputy Director also contributes to organisational strategy, represents NACCHO in national forums, and supports team capability through mentoring, collaboration and continuous improvement.
