The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body for 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). Together, we deliver community-led healthcare to over half of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia.

Join NACCHO’s National Sector Funding Team as an Assistant Director and contribute to better health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by leading the development and implementation of the National Hospital Reform Agreement, and the continued delivery of the National Sector Funding Agreement.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the ongoing management of the National Sector Funding Agreement contract, activities and deliverables.
  • Assist with the implementation and delivery of the National Hospital Reform Agreement.
  • Manage the coordination, assessment and preparation of workplans, budgets, performance reports, and other deliverables required under the National Agreements.
  • Liaise with NACCHO State and Territory Affiliate organisations, Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care and other external stakeholders.

You will bring

  • Experience at level in a similar role.
  • A strong background in public, social or health policy and/or programs.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to think strategically, including identifying and monitoring risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • High levels of initiative and a strong work ethic to lead this important work.
  • An understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their cultures and health and other contextual issues, or ability to quickly gain this understanding.
