about us

The North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Service (NAAFLS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Family Violence Prevention Legal Service. We provide culturally sensitive legal and non-legal support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence in regions across the Top End of the Northern Territory.

about our board

Our Board comprises of 4 Aboriginal member directors and 3 professional directors, who are supported by the Chief Executive Officer. Our Board meets 5 times a year which includes our Annual General Meeting. Additional time maybe required for committee work or special events.

about the role

NAAFLS is seeking an experienced Professional Director to join our Board.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the not-for-profit sector and will be selected for their independence and skills in financial management, corporate governance, or the delivery of the services provided by the corporation. Membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) is preferred.
