About the Role

As an integral part of the Centre’s MAHAN (Multicultural Allied Health and Nursing) services, the physiotherapist will contribute to supporting consumers from MSC’s Home Care Package program and participants of MSC’s Disability Services Program to achieve their goals, improve their safety and overall wellbeing. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Physiotherapist will use evidence-based interventions and a re-ablement approach to improve their independence. Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Delivering holistic, person centred and evidence-based physiotherapy services or treatments to consumers and participants
• Assessment and prescription of Goods, Equipment and Assistive Technology including mobility aids
• Developing and implementing mobility programs.
• Developing individual and group exercise programs.
• Undertaking individual client care planning as required
• Maintaining accurate client records
• Responding to queries and concerns in a timely manner

Selection Criteria

Essential:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Physiotherapy)
• Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for clients
• Demonstrated high standard of computer skills, knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new computer software programs and database
• Demonstrated knowledge of NDIS and HCP funding
• Sound knowledge of the NDIS practice standards and Aged Care Quality Standards
• High standard of verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

• Fluency in a language other than English
• Experience working with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds
