About the Role

As the Philanthropy Specialist, you’ll be a strategic relationship builder who manages a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and prospects. You will lead donor engagement plans, create compelling cases for support, and help shape the future of our major gifts program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a portfolio of major donors, ensuring long-term engagement and stewardship
  • Design and implement tailored donor journeys and mini campaigns
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts aligned with organisational goals
  • Prepare high-quality proposals, impact reports, and personalised communications
  • Collaborate across departments to craft compelling cases for support
  • Contribute to strategic planning within the Philanthropy and broader Fundraising teams
  • Leverage data, research, and donor insights to continuously improve outcomes
  • This role is integral to our goal of scaling our major giving strategy and advancing MS Plus’s mission in a sustainable, donor-centric way.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in major gift fundraising, capital campaigns or equivalent
  • Proven success securing and growing philanthropic support
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in communicating with senior stakeholders and high-net-worth individuals
  • Strong project management and proposal writing skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor engagement strategies, and relevant compliance frameworks

Desirable:

  • Emotional intelligence, empathy, and high ethical standards
  • Experience in the social impact or disability sectors
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and donor data analytics

One More Thing:

Successful candidates will need to complete a National Police Check (and possibly an International Police Check), need to have NDIS Clerance and Working with Children Clearance
