  • Salary Package: From $99,739 to $108,138 (HEW 7) plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

  • Location: Wattamatageal Campus, Macquarie Park

THE ROLE

The Macquarie Global Leadership Program is seeking an Advisor role to join the high-performing Global Leadership Program team. The role offers an exciting mix of complex project management including event and trip management, relationship building both internal and external to the university, research and content development using best practice pedagogy in the areas of human rights, sustainability, innovation, advocacy, global cultures and multiculturalism, as well as student guiding/mentoring, with some local travel.

You value collaboration and team outcomes while being able to work autonomously to achieve your goals. You have experience and/or interest in working with students and/or young people with several years working in complex project management. You are adept in multiple communication styles and formats, including public speaking, across a broad range of activities and mediums. You are able to juggle various projects and worktypes, both with competing deadlines, in a single day. You value human-centred design principles and are able to create engaging and impactful learning experiences for students that reflect the values and mission of the program and Macquarie University.

The GLP is a multi-internationally award-wining program and a flagship program of Macquarie University. It is a transformative Macquarie experience that motivates its students to become active global leaders. The GLP opens up new possibilities for its students by giving them a critical understanding of diverse issues and perspectives, as well as the skills and experiences they need to confidently connect and communicate across cultures. We work with a broad range of academics, non-government organisations, starts-ups, the private sector, diplomatic missions, and local government, giving variety and challenge to the role. The GLP sits within the Education Portfolio of Macquarie University.

  • Completion of a Bachelor degree, preferably in a relevant field such as Sociology, Business, Psychology, International Studies, Communications;
  • Experience developing, implementing and evaluating projects or programs;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, creativity and initiative to solve problems;
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and motivating others (staff, students and/or volunteers);
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various groups and individuals to achieve your goals;
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary global and social issues;
  • Clear and influential communicator and content creator, in both verbal and written formats.
