Building our Talent

The Footscray Hospital Connectivity Centre is an innovative approach to creating social value developed over many years of refinement and collaboration across a range of sectors. The approach is based on collaboration and strong interpersonal relationships at both an individual and organisational level.

In the Connectivity Centre, environment lessons will be learnt and approaches refined in response to the needs of the industry and the community. Key to success will be teamwork, respect and preparedness to innovate and adapt.

The NFHCC offers services to a range of cohorts including youth, unemployed, workers in transition, prospective students, long-term unemployed.

Nb this will be a fixed term contract until the end of 2024.

The Administration Officer will support the operations of the New Footscray Hospital Connectivity Centre (NFHCC) and assist in facilitating industry involvement in developing a skilled future workforce.

Under the direction of the New Footscray Hospital Connectivity Centre (NFHCC) Project Manager and the NFHCC Project Officer (in collaboration with the DET Demonstration Project Manager), provide professional reception and customer service to internal and external stakeholders and other site visitors. This will include to:

  • Provide high quality customer service via telephone, email and face to face
  • Maintain accurate client records and provide data to assist with monitoring outcomes for the NFHCC
  • Liaise effectively with organisational units and staff beyond the immediate unit to gather information, stay informed and provide training and employment opportunities for NFHCC clients Provide a range of administrative support services, such as word processing, data entry, organising appointments and meetings
  • Be responsible for identifying issues and contributing to / implementing improvements in policies, procedures and practices in areas relevant to their role

Key Skillset Required:

  • At least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of staff and students within a project environment in order to meet the position objectives.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team, together with the capability to work alone/independently and meet the position objectives.
  • Ability to develop and foster relationships with community, industry and employers.
  • Capability in delivering high level customer service and engaging with a wide range of clients.
  • Capacity to understand and comply with employer policy and practices in all aspects of work and conduct, including OH&S and Anti-Discrimination responsibilities and complete/attend relevant training.
  • Ability to confidently use MS Office Suite with a particular focus on Excel. Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
