MSV is a specialist statewide community legal centre. We provide free financial counselling, legal and social work services to Victorians in mortgage stress. Our clients are complex, ineligible for other intensive supports and often at risk of homelessness. MSV’s casework informs our systemic advocacy work.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled Data Insights and Evaluation Officer (3 days per week) who,

  • is passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights
  • thrives on evaluating and tracking trends
  • uses data to inform decision making and continual quality improvement

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to People and Operations Manager, in this role you will analyse complex datasets, evaluate performance metrics, and generate impactful reports that drive decision-making.

ABOUT YOU

You are -

Analytical & data-savvy: able to collect, interpret, and present complex data in a compelling way to support reporting, practice improvements and advocacy.

Technically proficient: Comfortable handling data and reporting tools including data visualisation tools.

Collaborative & adaptable: liaises with teams internally and stakeholders externally and contributes to service improvements.

Organised & details orientated: able to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and maintain compliance with funding obligations.

Committed to social justice: you have an understanding of the challenges MSV clients may face and are aligned with MSV’s missions and purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and interpret MSV internal data to support reporting, practice and systemic advocacy needs.
  • Translate numerical data into clear and compelling narratives.
  • Produce regular reports to funders and contribute to MSV’s annual report.
  • Support the development of funding applications as required.
  • Produce impact reports (every 6 months) for external stakeholders which highlight MSV’s achievements.
  • Raise the capacity of MSV practice teams to use data to drive quality and service improvements.
  • Identify and interpret relevant external data sources to support MSV’s work. Support MSV’s policy/campaigns team to utilise external data.
  • Support administration and governance for the establishment and maintenance (secretariat function) of a best practice live experience consultation forum - the insights from which will strengthen MSV’s services and systemic advocacy.
  • Contribute to the development of MSV’s strategic direction and culture.
  • Liaise with academic partners, sector partners and/or contractors to support the production of high-quality, high-impact material.
