• Security– Permanent full time or part time role, based in the Hastings office, Band 6 (salary range $97,323 - $106,808 plus super) (July 2025 rate).

About the Role

As the First Nations Lead, you will help bring the Council and community together to support reconciliation and self-determination on the Mornington Peninsula. You will do this by:

• Planning and leading the delivery of the Shire’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP); and
• Supporting the representation of the Traditional Custodians and Indigenous community in Council planning, policy, and service delivery.

About You

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position, classified under ‘special measures’ of section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.

• Experience working with Indigenous communities to create and run programs that support wellbeing.
• Experience in community roles, handling complex and sensitive relationships.
• Skilled at managing projects and running community consultations.
• Proven ability to write for both professional and community audiences.
• Current Victorian Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check.
