About the Role

Every person working at the Briars supports the creation of a visitor experience which increases visitation, connects people to the sites’ unique cultural, natural and heritage beauty and delivers conservation outcomes within and outside the site.

The Briars Conservation & Wildlife Lead will contribute to the realisation of the site’s Master Plan by leading the delivery of the Briars Ark Program, wildlife management and wildlife experiences.

Reporting to the Team Leader Destinations, the core responsibilities include:

• Use best-practice land management and / or ecological management skills to plan and deliver works and projects which measurably improve the ecological health of each site.
• Develop and deliver wildlife experiences which connect visitors to Wildlife in a safe and ethical manner.
• Use best-practise wildlife management techniques to ensure animal husbandry standards are met or exceeded.
• Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with key agencies and stakeholders which support the successful delivery of the Ark Program and Wildlife Experiences. Including relationships with agencies to ensure all programs comply with relevant legislation.

About You

• Experience planning and delivering short and long-term programs and works which result in positive conservation and visitor experience outcomes,
• Experience developing and delivering visitor experiences including talks and tours, which connect people to key stories and key outcomes.
• Experience in engaging and working with industry partners to deliver outcomes for biodiversity/ecology, land management.
• Experience inspiring teams to connect to a vision and to deliver ambitious outcomes while enhancing staff wellbeing.
