About The Role

We are excited to announce an ongoing full time opportunity for the Social Work/Allied Health workforce clinical educator role within our large and dynamic SECASA team. In this newly created Social Work/Allied Health workforce clinical education position, the incumbent will work closely with the SECASA and Social Work leadership team, including the Head of Profession Social Work and Spiritual Care, Director SECASA and the Allied Health Education Lead to ensure the provision of effective training and development of graduate and early career Social Work clinicians within the South East Centre Against Sexual Assault.

The Social Work/Allied Health workforce clinical educator will play an integral role in supporting Social Work clinicians in developing their core and additional Social Work skills (including counselling modalities and frameworks required for Sexual Assault Counsellor Advocates) and assisting with timely and effective Sexual Assault crisis and therapeutic counselling services, which also requires utilising key Social Work skills and frameworks.

The role will be embedded using educational principles and project methodologies for evaluation as well as comprehensive knowledge of the Sexual Assault sector and guiding frameworks, AASW Social Work Practice Standards, Code of Ethics and credentialing and scope of practice.

This role will report professionally to the Head of Profession, Social Work and Spiritual Care and Operationally to Director-SECASA. The incumbent will be provided with professional supervision in line with AASW supervision standards and supported by the Allied Health Education Lead to support the development of education frameworks and evaluation.

You have been developing your clinical (Social Work and Sexual Assault counselling skills and knowledge), education, project management and quality improvement skills or you are an accomplished Social Worker and Allied Health professional with a drive to teach others in your profession; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your career.

Our Journey

You will be a member of a dynamic and supportive SECASA Social Work/Counsellor Advocate team (and Allied Health more broadly) working in a collaborative model of care across Monash Health. The position works closely with the internal and external stakeholders to provide care founded on current evidence-based practice for patients accessing care through the inpatient and community based setting, their families and carers.

What you need:

  • Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work (Qualifying) or equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Eligible for ordinary membership of AASW if overseas trained (aasw.asn.au) -proof of AASW assessment required
  • Experience with supervising Social Workers and Social Work students
  • At least 7 years clinical working experience in a variety of settings as a qualified Social Worker
  • Demonstrated experience in Sexual Assault and Family Violence Services
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical education
  • Australian working rights
  • Current Victorian Driver's licence
