Working in Healthcare has never been more important or meaningful.
An exciting opportunity has become available for multiple experienced occupational therapists to join the multidisciplinary team (MDT) at Dandenong Hospital servicing a busy caseload in the acute stream. We have an on-going position and a fixed-term position to fill a 12-month Parental Leave. Dandenong Hospital has acute medical and surgical units with a considerable variety of patient presentations, from a community with high diversity.
We pride ourselves on having an outstanding multi-disciplinary Model of Care where Allied Health works solidly alongside Nursing and Medical colleagues. You will find this a rewarding and friendly climate in which to provide high quality patient care and extend your professional skills. Your clinical leadership will extend to supervising Grade 1 Occupational Therapists and students, guiding them in their early career steps. You will support the Senior Clinicians in evaluating and developing processes for the occupational therapy department and the acute stream and contribute to evidence-based interventions within our services.
As a leader on the wards, this is an integral part of the supportive MDT that conducts high quality assessments and intervention helping achieve prompt discharges. Occupational Performance assessment and intervention is at the core of what we provide to patients to ensure robust discharges. This position requires well-developed communication and teamwork skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We have a large department, providing excellent opportunities for support, learning and development.
