ELMHS provides a range of mental health services to pregnant mothers, infants, children and adolescents and their families within the Southern Region. We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist with extensive experience working with parents and infants, children, adolescents and/or young people for a Permanent part time position (38 hours per fortnight) commencing as soon as possible.

About the Role

The Discipline Senior speech pathologist leads and provides professional governance to all ELMHS Speech Therapists. The Discipline Senior will have extensive clinical expertise in mental health care and in working with young people, their families and carers. The Discipline Senior will be responsible for leading the ongoing development, implementation, monitoring and review of Speech Pathology service provision in accordance with Speech Pathology Australia standards and ethics. The incumbent will provide direct services, supervise and lead Speech Pathologists in both discipline specific and generic roles and contribute to policy and service development.

As a member of the ELMHS Management Team you would be involved in a range of senior roles including:

  • Upholding the vision, goals and participating as a leader in the strategic directions of the ELMHS Clinical Model
  • Actively participating in the professional governance for all speech pathologists employed in ELMHS
  • Developing and implementing workforce plans for all ELMHS speech pathologists
  • Coordinating and evaluating appropriate discipline specific evidence-based clinical interventions including resources
  • Contributing to the development of the discipline and broader service development
  • Working with the Director of Allied Health, Mental Health Program to develop linkages between ELMHS, the Mental Health Program and Academic Institutions
  • Providing senior clinical practice as a key member in the Intake, Assessment, Consultation and Brief Treatment Team (iACT).
