The Mental Health Program serves consumers, their carers and families across the South-Eastern metropolitan region with bed-based, community and rehabilitation programs. We are excited to announce an exciting opportunity for a Creative Therapies Clinical Educator role within our large and dynamic team. In this newly created clinical education position, you will work closely with the Allied Health Mental Health leadership team, the Head of Profession for Creative Therapies, Allied Health Education Leads and Allied Health Managers and Directors. You will ensure the provision of effective training and development of graduate and early career Music and Arts therapy clinicians in the Mental Health Allied Health Program.

What you bring:

You have been developing your clinical, education, project management and quality improvement skills or you are an accomplished Creative Therapies professional with a drive to teach others in your profession; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your career.

You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence informed care to all patients, families and carers. You are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.

You Are Also:

• committed to a leadership & mentoring role in Creative Therapies
• Demonstrated extensive specialist skills and knowledge, and experience in using art modalities therapeutically to support the emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual well-being of consumers and their families.
• committed to delivering patient centred care & advocacy in line with organisational and professional practice standards
• enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively
• excited to be accountable for and manage specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence

What You Need:

• Two year Post Graduate degree or Masters in Art Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy
• Eligible for professional membership of Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies and Association, the Australian Music Therapy Association.
• Undergraduate or Post Graduate Degree in Music Therapy from an approved training course
• Eligible for current Membership and Registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Inc.
• Current ARIA Music Therapist Copyright & Reproduction License
