The Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) is responsible for providing strong leadership to the Casey Allied Health Assistant team, actively contributing to the Monash Health AHA leadership group and promoting the AHA profession both internally and externally.

We are currently looking for a Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant who is ideally experienced in the delivery of acute, sub-acute services or community services at Casey Hospital. A Day in the Life

The Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant is responsible for working within the Allied Health Team at Casey Hospital, supporting Social Work Department to assist therapists in the provision of best practice patient centred care and support the smooth operation of the Allied Health department through non-clinical duties.

The Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant is responsible for the provision of assistance to Social workers and other Allied Health professionals. They perform work of a general nature under the delegation and supervision of allied health professionals including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide strong leadership to the Social work Allied Health Assistant team in areas of workload, quality improvement and professional development
  • Represent the Allied Health Assistant team on the Monash Health Allied Health Assistant leadership group
  • Work with minimal supervision to implement therapeutic and related activities
  • Undertakes tasks which support the provision of clinical care, as directed by the Social Work Manager or treating Social Worker. These tasks will involve meeting with patients and families and completing community referrals, practical tasks and community based care arrangements
  • Ability to work autonomously, be flexible and arrange and prioritise workload effectively
  • Communicate effectively with the Social Work team regarding delegated tasks and escalate issues if necessary
  • Undertake administrative support tasks to enhance patient outcomes in Social Work Department
  • Participates in quality activities and departmental portfolios, as directed by the Social Work Manager, Stream Leader and/or allocated supervisor

What you need

  • Certificate IV Allied Health Assistance
  • Greater than 3 years AHA Experience in an allied health setting
  • Driver’s license
