About the Service

The Mental Health and Wellbeing services, otherwise known as “Locals”, are a key feature of the current system transformation. The Locals act as front door to the mental health service system and provide a continuum of care that puts the person accessing the service at the very centre of their treatment, support and care coordination using a range of evidence informed approaches.

About the role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and grounded Therapeutic Lead for a fixed term, full time (38 hours per week) opportunity in the Dandenong area. You will provide oversight and support to a multidisciplinary team and work in collaboration with the leadership team across the Local service. The Therapeutic Lead will utilise expertise in delivering meaningful client-led outcomes, be motivated to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and able to demonstrate a commitment to person-led approaches across their portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure a climate of clinical service provision that is dedicated to high quality, individualised outcomes for service users, family, carers and partners.
  • Review performance of staff and provide consistent and regular feedback including practice and clinical supervision as required.
  • Hold a caseload utilising expert clinical skills using an approved therapeutic modality in practice.
  • Provide direction, support and opportunities for reflective practice to the therapeutic team in the Local.
  • In line with organisational strategic plan, seek to foster, develop and grow partnerships that benefit the Local and the people it provides services to. 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health (including Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Social Work) or other health related field as designated by Mind.
  • Able to obtain registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Australian Associate of Social Workers (AASW) or equivalent accreditation and/or able to hold Mental Health Accreditation.
  • Extensive clinical experience delivering allied health assessments, interventions and report writing.
  • Experience in delivering clinical and line management supervision.
  • Sound understanding of NDIS, how it works and best practices to support clients with psychosocial support needs to navigate the system
