As the Team Leader, you will act as the practice lead, providing supervision, mentoring and coaching to staff, while also overseeing the operational requirements of the service.

About the service

The Community Care Unit (CCU) is a longer-term residential service that provides intensive treatment and recovery support for people experiencing serious mental health challenges. It supports individuals whose lives have been disrupted, making independent living difficult. Clients can access staff 24/7 whilst being supported to stabilise their mental health and gain the skills necessary to safely transition back into the community from a hospital environment.

 Key responsibilities

  • Coach and lead a team to deliver high quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
  • Support clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
  • Lead and model effective practice to staff working with clients, provide support to families and carers, and plan and deliver group work.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the residential service, including administration, rostering, facilitating handovers, and monitoring budget expenditure.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a coordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Expertise in supporting people with mental health challenges and complex needs, with proven ability to lead teams in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and family-inclusive practices.
  • Ability to provide a record of vaccination for Vaccine Preventable Diseases or willingness to obtain vaccinations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chickenpox, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B, or other diseases as required through our partnership with QLD Health.

Benefits

  • Salary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Converge International, for you and your immediate family members.
  • Fitness Passport - Access to our corporate health and fitness program, providing you and family with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities.
