About the role

The Pop Up Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (CMHWS) is a new initiative developed to meet the increased demand for mental health support as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. CMHWS provides wellbeing supports tailored to a person’s individual needs including early intervention, specialist referrals, assistance for families and carers, clinical oversight, clinical mental health assessment, treatment and acute care. The service will support people of all ages experiencing psychological distress or mental ill health.

We are seeking an experienced, high performing Service Manager for a 10 month fixed term, full time opportunity in the Melbourne metro and regional area. Working remotely, you will lead and direct a new team in all aspects of the program and ensure a high standard of service delivery consistent with Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice and the My Better Life model. As this position requires travel across Melbourne a fully maintained company car is provided.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage services to clients, families and carers in line with the My Better Life model.
  • Provide leadership to ensure delivery of safe, effective recovery orientated care.
  • Guide and mentor a high performing team by engaging staff, setting clear direction and performance expectations.
  • Deliver targeted and integrated case managed responses to clients by holding a reduced caseload.
  • Manage and be accountable for achievement of service performance and budget targets.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Experience working with adults and young people with mental health issues and complex needs, and expertise interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven leadership and management skills whilst experience directing a mobile workforce is desirable.
  • Successful track record in relationship development, management and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in financial management, budget control and reporting.
