About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Manager to lead a dedicated team supporting young people with psychosocial disability for a fixed-term, part-time (19 hours/week) opportunity based in Caboolture. In this role, you will oversee program operations and ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with Mind’s Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice. You will manage performance and budget outcomes while ensuring compliance with systems, policies, and procedures. 

About the service

The Youth Step-Up Step-Down (YSUSD) Residential Service offers a short-term, 24/7 support for young people aged 16–21 who are transitioning from hospital to community, or working to prevent hospitalisation. Delivered in partnership with the local health service, it provides intensive individual and group support to help participants to work towards achieving their recovery goals, strengthening relationships with families and carers, developing community networks, and building confidence and capacity to live safely in the community. 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations to ensure the service is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Lead and manage high-quality, individualised services for clients, families, and carers in accordance with the Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice.
  • Build and lead a high-performance team through engaging the team, setting clear direction and fostering team engagement
  • Oversee financial management, reporting, and service compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including communities, service providers, partners, government agencies, and others. 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and their families and carers, alongside strong knowledge of mental health service delivery, service development, financial management, budget control, and reporting.
  • Proven leadership skills with the capability to coach, mentor, and develop a team to achieve high-quality service outcomes.
  • Ability to provide a record of vaccination for Vaccine Preventable Diseases or willingness to obtain vaccinations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chickenpox, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B, or other diseases as required through our partnership with QLD Health.
