About the role

The Learning & Development (L&D) Business Unit aims to develop a capable, confident and collaborative workforce by integrating lived experience, practice wisdom and latest research into quality services that help people gain better mental health and improve the quality of their lives. L&D team is responsible for supporting Mind’s workforce, Recovery College and Family and Carers through coordinating a comprehensive learning calendar, developing and delivering practice skills training and managing learning projects.

We are seeking a creative, high performing Instructional Designer for a permanent, part time (30 hours per week) opportunity in the Heidelberg area. With from home options, you will lead and mentor a small team of Course Designers and Developers to produce training materials and solutions including eLearning products, storyboarding, virtual instructor led training (VILT), micro videos and other learning products.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with the L&D Project Manager to ensure the design team delivers consistent and quality training within timeframes and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and SME’s to develop training solutions consistent with Mind strategic plans and objectives.
  • Design blended learning curriculums that follow contemporary adult learning principles including eLearning products, VILT workshops, multi-media training, animated videos, work instructions and face-to-face instructor led programs.
  • Support the team to develop new processes and procedures for implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS).

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Workplace Training & Assessment or other related field.
  • Previous experience in Mental Health, Health Services or Community Services sectors is desirable.
  • Proven experience with developing blended learning curriculum programs including multi-media, eLearning products, micro videos, animations and online webinars.
  • Strong abilities in visual design, Microsoft PowerPoint, designing storyboards for eLearning and videos, authoring tools and video editing software.
