About the role

The Business Services stream’s primary function is to provide financial analysis on the various aspects of the organisation, financial planning, tender costing, advice and other advisory services as requested by senior management to drive business strategy, ensure financial sustainability and agility. Within Business Services, the Finance business unit delivers financial operations, finance systems, management reporting, external reporting and asset management. The aim is to achieve consistent service delivery and comply with internal and external policy, standards and practice.

We are seeking a high-performing, experienced Finance Business Partner for a challenging permanent, full time opportunity to work at our Central Office in the Heidelberg area. With work from home options, you will collaborate with Managers providing financial information, business modelling, tools, reporting, analysis and insights. This role will meet compliance and internal control requirements, challenge thinking and provide rationale to help the business make more informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Support senior leaders to manage operations, develop budgets and provide financial reasoning to help with decision making.
  • Develop and implement effective business models and review regularly to test efficiency.
  • Provide advice on budget management, variance analysis, resolve finance related issues, forecast results, explain financial impacts and coach understanding of reports.
  • Lead the Annual Budget process, prepare quarterly forecasts and cash flow analysis, and assist with Budget reporting to the FAaR committee and Board.
  • Work collaboratively with the Financial Accounting team to close off month-end reporting within required timeframes.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce and/or equivalent experience with a CPA, CA or CIMA membership.
  • Proven Finance Business Partner experience and understanding of NFP, Community Services, Mental Health, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving with ability to perform financial and operational analysis.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of TechnologyOne, Power BI or dashboard reporting tools, Excel and financial modelling.
